I can't resist hype. Since everyone around me was going gaga over silk pillowcases, I had to try them myself. Importing from US would have been expensive, and in India, it was confusing. While searching online, I found three brands which sell 100% pure Mulberry Silk products in India. Those brands are: ubersilk, Beausilk and Dame Essentials. I bought one product from each of these websites and starting with ubersilk, I am going to give review of all these 3 brands.
Product claim: Wake up with straighter, shinier and, healthier hair along with a fresher wrinkle free skin which will remain moisturized all over night even when you are asleep. Other fabrics suck the natural moisture from the skin and natural oil from the hair. Mulberry silk has less chemicals than other fabrics, reduces the incidence of bedhead, less split ends, breakage and pulling.

My experience: I called the team to know more about the brand and got to know that the brand is certified by the Silk Board of India and designs its own pillowcase besides the rest of the products. Unlike other brands which directly import from other countries, Ubersilk pillowcase is designed and made in India. I loved the entire experience with the customer care. While other companies only respond on emails, Ubersilk's representative gives you a call and helps resolve all your queries as well as doubts. The brand's client handling is quite heart-warming. So, I placed my first order of 1 standard size pillowcase in the color midnight blue.
The cost after adding 400 INR taxes comes out to be 2600 INR and I got 200 INR discount. The package arrived in about 4-5 days. and I was delighted to see that along with pillowcase I had received goodies like pillowcase special cleaner, scrunchies and ear buds.
About the pillowcase, I love the color. The silk is 22 momme. I loved the fact that it comes with a zip. The only thing is the pillowcase has a lining inside which is a normal lining cloth and because of that, the pillowcase doesn't feel as soft as that of other brands. However, when I inserted the pillow in it and slept on it, the cover felt very soft against the skin and hair. For the first time, I did not wake up with tangled hair. I felt that it improved my quality of sleep. I love my new pillow:)
Update: I have been sleeping on it for 3 days now. Earlier, sometimes my skin would get red or get boils, and I would think that it was due to some products. But now that I wake up with clear and fresh skin, I wonder if pillowcase has made any contributions to it. Can't say for sure. But major improvement in hair. Now while combing, I don't get any tangles, which means zero breakage, which means zero hairfall.

I enquired the brand about the thinness of the cloth and lining and this is the reply:
"The reason is this is 19mm. Other factors are vertical and horizontal threads, which are both silk unlike other brands which import the silk and have horizontal threads on polyester. We've not used any artificial means on thickening the fabric. The lining is pure cotton as it gives firmness, rigidity and increased life. Also, when used on old pillows, it acts as barrier for microbes to pass through".
Overall Verdict:
Although, I found Beausilk and Dame essentials silk softer and thicker, I do feel that this cover doesn't compromise on quality either, and Rahul was kind enough to even send me a photo of the certificate from Silk Board India that approves its product as 100% Mulberry Silk.
Will I recommend it?
Definitely yes. If you are on a budget and are hesitant to spend 5k on Dame essentials, yes. Other affordable brand is Manetain store. My friend has been using products from Manetain for years and she wears by the quality and results. Dameessentials was recommended to my friend by a dermatologist, So no doubt about the quality.
